RE-COVER, RE-THINK, RE-INVENT
This year’s research will explore and question the ‘Urban fabric’. In a world with an increasing demand for economic growth and development, a rapidly rising population where more than fifty percent of the overall inhabitants live in cities, we need to recover, rethink and reinvent the city – the natural human ‘milieu’.
In an era of all pervasive computing, architecture and technology can be the tools not only to recuperate and connect, but to implement and formulate new simple, complex, hybrid and experimental solutions for abandoned, neglected and no longer fit for purpose areas of the city.
